NOTE: The Division of Building, Design and Fire Professionals, the Office of Cannabis Regulation and the Cannabis Control Commission are located at 560 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick RI 02886. The Department of Business Regulation is an organization of dedicated professionals responsible for regulating and licensing a broad array of Rhode Island businesses in order to protect the public. Through its various divisions, the Department regulates businesses and professionals in the areas of insurance, banking, securities, gaming and athletics, liquor, adult use and medical cannabis, industrial hemp, real estate, design professionals, auto body repair, building, fire safety, and contractors along with many others. The Department's mission is to assist, educate, and protect Rhode Islanders through the implementation and enforcement of State laws mandating regulation and licensing of these industries and other activities while recognizing the need to foster a sound business environment in the State.

Responsibilities:
The Department of Business Regulation's primary function is to implement State laws mandating the regulation and licensing of designated businesses, professions, occupations, and other specified activities.
