The Rhode Island Parole Board is an independent, quasi-judicial entity that is authorized to consider the conditional early release of inmates in the Adult Correctional Institutions who are serving a sentence of more than six (6) months, except those serving life without parole. The Board also decides applications for medical and geriatric parole, and addresses violations of parole in the community. The Parole Board is designated as the Community Supervision Board for convictions of first- and second-degree child molestation after 1/1/1999. Parole statutes can be found at R.I.G.L. 13-8.1-1 et seq. 13-8-1 et. seq. |
