|Through our Business Services Division, we maintain filings for active and inactive for-profit and non-profit corporations, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies. Our First Stop Business Information Center makes it easier to start or grow a business by creating a custom-tailored road map of relevant permits, applications, and other government services. Business Services also administers the Uniform Commercial Code Program as well as registers Notaries, Trademarks, and Games of Chance. The Elections Division maintains the state's voter registration database and publishes guides for running for office and voting. Finally, the State Archives, Library, and Public Information staff serve as a gateway to open government tools. The State Archives is responsible for comprehensive archives and records management services for all Rhode Island public records, including all state rules and regulations. The State Archives also preserves historic documents and records. The Rhode Island State Library provides reference and research services in the areas of law, legislation, government reports, and Rhode Island history. Finally, Public Information registers and tracks lobbying activity and regulations within Rhode Island state government, and registers and publishes upcoming and past meetings of all state and local government entities, including boards and commissions.
