The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) is a non-profit quasi-state authority which has been providing affordable higher education solutions since 1981. RISLA offers low cost state-based education loans, free admissions and financial aid assistance through the College Planning Center of Rhode Island, and financial literacy guidance at high schools and colleges throughout the State of Rhode Island.
Responsibilities
-Originate and service low cost education financing options for students and parents; -Originate and service low cost education loan refinancing options for student loan borrowers; -Provide free college planning & financial aid guidance through the College Planning Center of Rhode Island; -Administer the Nursing Reward, Nurse Educator Reward, and Intern Reward programs to assist borrowers with the repayment on their student debt; -Provide & administer a scholarship matching tool through www.rischolarships.org; -Provide free financial literacy counseling at high schools, colleges and organizations state-wide; and -Administer RISLA's Knowledge for College Scholarship Program.
